Rain, Rain and Snow

Seems to me this is the kind of weather we get in February. This is driving me nuts. I need to get to work. Actually, I need a job that doesn't rely on the good graces of the Weather Gods. What to do, but blog away.

I'll just blame the lost income on global warming.

Kat; I saw your comment on the weather but couldn't find where you posted it. I should mention in my blog header that if someone posts a comment in the archives, or even something from a few days back, it's often hard to find where it's been posted. All I get in my e-mail is the comment with no reference to what subject the comment was made on. If any of you do post in archived subjects, try to remember to include the date of the original post you're commenting on so I know where to find it.

If this global warming gets any worse, I'm gonna buy some snowshoes.

Another 60 degree sunny day in Nebraska. We had a couple weeks of 0 degree weather but lately we've had more mild sunny days than usual.

should add, we've only had a total of a couple weeks of snow all winter. There's even bees flyin around outside now, very unusual.
6 years ago there'd still be a foot or so on the ground.

Ok, Kat. I missed it. I thought you might have posted it on whatever post it was we were talking about doppler radar and the weather.

NO, I was hijacking the comments about politics for weather.

I personally find weather much more interesting. Equal drama but less corruptness!

Oh and the snow level is supposed to stay at 500 feet all day and tonight. So you might get a slight bit of snow again in the morning or tonight. It's snowing here again and the snow had melted away from the first time.

Do you use any instant messenger programs?

I'm fredtyg on Yahoo Messenger. I don't use YM much anymore, though. If you want to chat, let me know and I'll try and turn YM on.

hi fred!
not to change the subject, but did you notice the letter to the editor in the Arcata Eye where the mean guy uses derogatory terms like "lunatic" "psycho" and other mean things (i don't have it in front of me - I do NOT buy the Eye) in reference to people who have special challenges? What a meanie! Do think that this kind of hate-mongering could have played a part in the two recently reported acts of terror against people labelled as "homeless"?

Plazoid, if you "do NOT buy the Eye", why do you buy into Fred's blog enough to read and post on it?

There is no fundamental political difference between Fred and the Eye.

Hmmm...no fundamental difference between Fred and the Arcata Eye? Cool. I don't regularly read the Eye so I wouldn't know. Maybe they'll hire me as a guest commentator?

And Plazoid, regarding the "hate- mongering" you refer to: Do I think that had anything to do on the recent attacks on homeless people? Probably not, as I suspect the people who were involved in the attacks don't read newspapers, at least not regularly.

Almost like what one fellow maitenance gardener did: He stored his equipment in a locked trailer at night. One night someone broke into the trailer and stole all his equipment. After putting fliers up all over the place about his stolen equipment, he wrote a letter to the editor of the Times- Standard chastising the people, whoever they were, that stole his equipment.

I kinda thought it a waste of time to write a letter to the editor since it seemed highly unlikely to me that the burglars were the type of people that would read anything, much less a newspaper.
