Governator Vetoes Industrial Hemp

A bit late to bring this up, but the Governor's veto of the industrial hemp bill that finally passed both houses of the state legislature is yet another reason I'll be happy to vote for Libertarian Art Olivier, instead.

Hey, I can understand there are other forces than common sense involved here. I might even be willing to blow it off as Ahnold just being a pragmatic politician. Problem is, he has to make a statement about what he does and it makes it look like he actually believes in what he did.

He should of signed the industrial hemp bill instead of being intimidated by the feds. His supposed concern about sending a false sense of security to potential hemp growers is silly. I'm sure those growers are more than aware of just what they might be getting themselves into. Let them decide for themselves, Governor.

Whoa! This surprises me, because I'd read an article a few weeks back that suggested he would sign it. Davis had already vetoed similar bills.

Guess he feels he's got the election in the bag and wants to position himself to shore up his base for a Senate run.

Schwartzenegger is such a crooked bastard. He'd feel right at home in the U.S. Senate.

Arnold is a Nazi, Angeledes is an enviro-despoiler, just about any third party is better than this false choice.

Highly doubtful he could win a Senate race, imo, although he's probably got a better chance than any of the current or past contenders against Feinstein.

Signing that bill would have been the common sense thing to do. I think it would have helped him in a Senate bid, rather than hurt him. He even had McClintock, who carried the hemp bill in the State Senate to fall back on if he signed it.

I can't help but wonder what his real motivation was for vetoing it. Who were the handlers that had his ear on this? I can't believe he actually vetoed it for the reason he said he did.

Wow, Arnold is "crooked" and a "nazi" because he didn't sign the hemp bill ?

Good for Arnold !

Arnold is a Nazi because he repeatedly expressed admiration for dictators and their fascist beliefs (remember his statement "If you gave these blacks a country to run, they would run it down the tubes" or maybe his distribution of Hitler's speeches on LP), and he's crooked because he promised not to be beholden to special interests, then gets drowned in millions of blood dollars from these same vampires.

He couldn't beat Feinstein, but maybe if the political conditions were just right he could defeat Boxer.

However, I suspect that Diane Feinstein will be a VP candidate one of these years.
