New Hotspot

I only mention this here because the Humboldt Hot Spots site seems to have gone by the wayside. At least their "Contact" page seems to have. I can get to the main page, but there doesn't seem to be a way to submit a new site.

I noticed, while at the credit union today, that Happy Donuts had a sign on their window saying they offer free wireless internet. I didn't try it, but I'm assuming it works. Happy Donuts is next to Provident Central Credit Union at the Eureka Mall.

GOOO...Happy Donuts, although I still don't see why everyone needs to provide free wireless access.

Wireless routers are relatively cheap. Not only that but the log in page can include advertising and it is good PR for selling doughnuts and coffee. The best part is that it drives the socialists nuts. Priceless.

Even when I am plugged into Suddenlink at the office, my computer picks up wifi in Fortuna. The Fortuna Chamber of Commerce provides free wifi, but I am not sure whose wifi I am receiving. I suppose I should ask the stockbroker in our building if he has wifi. At home we have wifi with our satellite system.

Congratulations on lifting the comment moderation, Fred. I hope it goes well.

I tried sending an e-mail to the hotspots webmaster through their domain name to tell them the page was screwed up. Not sure if that will work, but it hasn't bounced yet.

Let's see - surf the web while scarfing down one of those incredible apple fritters of theirs?

This one could be handy, especially if they have a drive-thru.

Yes. They do have a drive- thru.

Is comment moderation lifted? Still showing up here... did you have to reinstate it?

F-CK that guy for messing with you, Fred. You're the best.

Thanks.

No, I never lifted comment moderation. I don't know what gave Carol that idea.

I posted a comment the other day and it showed up instantly as usual. So it's all my fault. But it did happen. Good thing I wasn't your troll.

Hmmm...either a glitch with blogspot or, just by chance, I was checking my e-mail the same time you posted the comment.
