Fred's Humboldt Blog
I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. I agree, she is sweet! And what a a handy cooking tip! You can do the same thing with tomatoes.
About the only thing about this trick is it seems to me a potato peeler would be quicker than heating up water and getting enough cold water.
Aside from that, I happen to like potato peels. I've heard that's where most of the nutrition in a potato is.
Ok. Last Mary Ann post. Doesn't mean I won't respond to comments, just no more original posts.
In fact, this isn't a post, it's a comment. Here's web site with all things Mary Ann. If you click on the Gilligan's Island link, there's all kinds of stuff there about Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island, including memorabilia you can buy:

Potato peels are cork which is cellulose. You cane get the same nutritional value by eating sawdust.
The best food value of a potato is just under the peel and is unfortunately lost when a peeler is used so leave the peel on and eat it.
Wow- she is still awesome.
What a sick society that cannot let a 69 year old decide if she want a puff now and then.............
Does she cook with ginger?
