Speaking of local control, isn't Joan Gallegos related to someone we all know and love? Ok, someone we all know. Bumped into her name again in the Ukiah Daily Journal. She apparently donated $500, during the last reporting period, to the Vroman for D.A. campaign in Mendocino County.
Hmmm....oh, that's right. She's not a corporation.

Not that it matters, but most law offices are not incorporated. And even if they are, it doesn't prevent the owners from donating as individuals.
Did Joan Gallegos support measure T? I don't know the answer. I'm just asking. It's very dangerous to assume that she agrees with her husband on every issue. It's certainly not the case in my home.
Joan is like Hillary. The smarter of the two. Vroman? Tit for tat. He endorsed her husband.

Don't forget David Cobb's donation to Dave Meserve in Arcata, a city Cobb has never lived in, gone to school in or owned a business in. Cobb and his oh-so-obedient drones also manipulated the Arcata Greens and the county Green Party into only endorsing Meserve and ignoring their second seat choice. These are the same hypocrites who cry feminism, then ignore the only Green woman running in this county, Dana Quillman, who would be a far superior Councilmember without the baggage of Meserve. Anyone who wants their donation to do some good should try to help out those candidates who are being discriminated against.

From what I have seen here, this has happened to the Libertarian party.
We have the same problem with Democrats like Harmony Groves (who doesn't support any of the Greens running for local state or fed office) and David Cobb pretending to be Greens just to subvert its independence. We call them DemoGreens.
How 'bout Greens masquerading as Democrats? Jesus why does everything come down to what stupid party you registered for? Maybe we should abolish all political parties adn register to vote as a citizen of the United States, or as a member of the human race.
I second Dana Quillman over Meserve. He has divided a progressive town, plunging it into political cannibalism. He has accomplished in Arcata what neocons are doing nationwide: neutering the progressive movement. He can't be that dumb, can he? I wonder about his true motivations.

A Brown Act violation requires a meeting of three council members. Vote Dana in and Dave out and you solve the problem. Who else would meet with both Dana and Paul at the same time over, say, lunch?
My ticket is Stillman and Dana. Stillman has the brainy experience and Dana has the heart. Dana has gone on record opposing Stillman, which makes them a perfect balance in my book. They are two progressives who won't simply parrot the Local Solutions line of senselessness.

Wrong. The Brown Act says a majority cant meet in secret to converse which is why local city councils and the Supervisors all appoint these 2-person subcommittees to spearhead the development or review of specific proposals. Unless Machi or Groves decide to spirit themselves off to Sumatra to reduce Arcatas council to 4 then 2 people aint a majority. The only thing different is then Pitino and Quillman couldn't do subcommittees with other people. Since these subcommittees get so little done anyway and cant take any action without full council review in public thats hardly a loss.
Since Harmony hasnt so much as sneezed on that council without asking Alex Stillmans permission its hard to say which pillow talk we should be more worried about. Dana has said publicly she doesnt agree with Paul on the homeless issue and other topics too.

Take a step back and listen to yourself, and I don't mean the voices inside your head. Tell us something. What's the time-sharing arrangement between Stillman, Hoover, Arkley, Cobb and Sims? What's it like when they're wrestling over who gets to hold the remote control manipulating Harmony's brain?
Or maybe we should discuss the converse of your fantasy world. What's it like when Dave and Paul meet at their secret forest hideout with the Endeavor staff, Tad and the homeless brigade, scheming over how to bring even more of the nation's homeless to Arcata? She pretends to be a Green but never steps out of line with the Stillman neolib Democrat party line, with the meaningless exception of voting for purely symbolic nonlocal resolutions. Because of the strong appearance of a Brown Act conflict, they would both effectively be prevented from ever talking Council business with any other member, so neither of them could sit on any committees.

Mark Wheetley and Alex Stillman are the best choices for Arcata -- they're the only candidates who will focus on running the city in a responsible, business-like manner. Dave is a disaster, and if he's re-elected the fault will lay squarely in the laps of the people who have been complaining about his ridiculous agenda but didn't get off their rear-ends to vote him out of office.

Where does Anon fit into all of this? He has been a staunch defender of Harmony Groves, the HSU student running against me. He has over the years left me clues to his identity. I have never heard him claim or deny to be the person I think he is. Meserve is not so much an ideologue (an advocate of a particular ideology) as he is a demogague (a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims to gain power).
